Around 1996 I machined a "lithophane" from a 3d cad drawing that took forever to draw.The results were impressive, but there was a disappointment in the complexity, and amount of time it took to complete. I always believed that one day it would become a reality to be able to produce this effect affordably for everyone.. That time has arrived!
We are a family owned and operated small machining service located outside of Greensboro, NC. We have enjoyed the responses and comments from those who have had photos machined. They have encouraged us to bring it to more people, and to structure some product for "E-commerce". We realize this service is not easily found,(even locally, let alone from across the country) and this website is part of our efforts to become more known, and bring about more smiles!
Photo-Milling.com is born from a basic machine shop environment. We have been machining photos for some time now, and that experience has brought about our usage of the best materials, techniques and skills to produce the same quality in every photo that is machined. Not unlike the attention received by an aerospace part.
Photo Milling operates with a "Non-profit" pricing structure. We are not trying to make a bunch of money here..Just trying to make the ends meet! This is the best way we can think of to keep this service available for all to enjoy!
